Focus on the nature and causes of the motivation of individual students may help us to develop strategies to foster students’ motivation in education, as we have seen in the previous videos. However, a broader and more integrative perspective on students’ engagement in the school environment provides further cues to foster motivation.
The next video introduces the concept of engagement at the school, classroom, peer and task level. Factors leading to engagement and disengagement are discussed.
